Back to Work !

Today, Monday January 4th, the Holidays are definitely over and it’s back to work. And to make it even worse, it snowed again on Sunday. Mind you, not a lot, just 2 cm (less than an inch) or so, but enough to make the roads slippery. Moreover, the weather people predict temperatures between -12°C and -2°C all through the coming week; and these are day and night temperatures. How I hate this! Can’t wait for spring to return!

Our courtyard on Sunday morning. Hopefully I will be able to get my car out of the garage
(the one on the far left) without slipping and sliding into the wall.

I just realized that I didn’t work a lot during the month of December. I had the second and the forth week off and in between I followed a three day course on writing for the internet. It was very interesting and I picked up a lot of useful tips for my blog. The ‘teacher’ was a Parisian from the IT firm which is developing our company’s new website. He was great fun and the audience – some 10 people or so – never felt bored!

And then last week, I had another four days off. So it’s really time to pick up there where we left in November. Moreover, January is a very hectic month in our line of business, with a lot of leaflets, brochures and mailing letters to be written. And by March 31st, the new website has to be operational too.

This means that there will be no time off … and therefore no little trips to France in the coming months. But don’t worry, after 25 years of frequent travelling in France, I have enough stories up my sleeve to keep this blog going for a while, until I have some ‘fresh’ material to write about.

We might just have to visit you when we stay in Paris - never been to Belgium.

I bet your work is very interesting. You seem to enjoy it a lot, which is wonderful.

Leon, Sounds like a great idea too! I'd love to show you and Sue around. But I suggest that we compare the options sometime in February. ;)

Nadege, I can't complain, but it becomes a little tricky when the 'legal eagles' start examining the texts we have written. They are awfully demanding and strict ... banning all our creative input. But I guess that's their job :( !

I hate this weather, too. I can cope with the cold but I hate driving in the snow.

Jean, Tonight's weather report predicts more snow for tomorrow afternoon ... Yuk! Snow is nice to look at when you can leave the car at home.
