Silent Thursday

Okay, I know, you're used to a silent Wednesday, but the second part of our VIP visit to the Mercier winery in Epernay in 1985 just couldn' wait. Hence, a silent Thursday.

Vouvray in the Loire Valley, June 2008:
the village tree at midnight!

P.S. This is this orginal photo, without tricks or Photoshopping. The colours are just amazing, aren't they?

Martine,

All right-it is in Summer (June) and the leaves are green. So what type of lighting or lamps are out there for that golden colour?

More than amazing - extraordinaire :-)

The color of the sky is amazing.

The Beaver, In the nineties I used to work for GTE Sylvania (maybe the name rings a bell) and so I know a bit about lighting. This kind of night light is probably the result of Sodium low or high pressure lamps. Low pressure gives an 'orange-yellow' colour, while high pressure is bright white ...

Nadege, I think the night sky is just a reflection of the light underneath the tree. But I agree, the result is quite unsual.

Thank you both for appreciating the photo !

I must add my compliments to those of "ma cousine" and Nadège. I was wondering about that blue sky at midnight! Did you use a flash or something. In any case the result is absolutely stunning.

Chm, Thank you. The flash on my little hobby camera 'flashed' alright, but I didn't do anything special. So it was just sheer luck I guess.
