Silent Wednesday

Although it isn't Easter yet ... !
Do you have any idea where I shot this charming scene?

Makes a nice change from the traditional lions, doesn't it?

I'll give you a hint. It's in France, but not in the Loire Valley.

If it were in the U.S. I'd say it is in the Rabbit Capital of the World, but in France, I have no clue.

I cannot even read the license plate, "plaque minéralogique", of the car, it's too blurry!

Hi Leon, could even be in Australia! LOL

To all. I admit that it's bit of a wild goose chase ... but I'm not going to give the answer yet ... Patience! Maybe somebody else would like to take a guess?

Leon, No it's not in the Dordogne, considering that we've never been south of the Loire valley :(.

Nadege, Thank you. The photo is not of very good quality because I was trespassing and I had to use the zoom of my little hobby camera. But the scene is very endearing, I think.

Chm, I knew you would notice the license plate ;)! At first, I wanted to take it out, but when I saw that it was unidentifiable I decide to leave it in!

Is it supposed to be a famous place or is someone famous living there? Of course not Lewis Carol but a place maybe that was once owned by Madame de Sevigne, or someone who writes (wrote) children books?????

Nadege, No sorry. It's just a private villa in a small country lane.
But because you're such a good sport, I'll give you another hint. It's located in a town that has the statue of a mythical animal in the main square. I've visited it on several occasions and the last time was in September 2009! Any idea?

Je donne ma langue au chat! It is 5pm here (1 am your time) so I will just have to be patient to find the answer but I will check out your september 09 postings. I might be lucky.

Loches? Last september, you were in Alsace, la Roche-Posay, outside Tourraine... I don't know the answer but I have to say it is fun to guess where this charming place might be.

Nadège, another hint. The name of the town begin with an S, but it is not Strasbourg. I almost gave it up! MDR

Nadege, Thank you for playing the game ... Apparently Chm has found the answer.

Chm, You got it right. Did you get the help of a little unicorn? The one that has its statue in the main square of Saverne, in the Alsace? Congratulations!

This beautifil garden gate belongs to a villa that is located on a quiet country lane on the edge of the Forêt du Haut Barr and the town of Saverne. We discovered it by chance during one of our walks. You can't see it from the main road that is leading up to the Haut Barr castle.
