This time last year, we had July-like temperatures. In fact, it was abnormally warm and dry! This year is quite different. It's too cold for the time of year - hardly 10°C. It's cloudy, windy and raining on and off. In fact, really like a traditional month of April should be: rain, sun, showers, wind and even some hail. But we're not used to it anymore. So everybody is complaining.
Recent view from my kitchen window.
However, these notorious April showers have an unexpected and 'oooh' so beautiful side-effect: a splendid rainbow against a menacing dark sky. I wish I could find the crock that is at the end of it! Don't you?
PS: I forgot to mention that the awful electric cable that is spoiling the view, will soon be gone because all cables are to go underground. Great!

I love rainbows and this is a fantastic photo. Yea, that crock of gold would be very useful! Diane
Great picture, Martine! There is nothing like seeing a rainbow to make you feel that all is right with the world! I so agree with you that it's a wonderful thing when those cables get buried -- so many towns are ruined by these ugly wires.
Great shot! I love capturing rainbows.
And yes, I think that all electrical cords should be placed underground. Especially in new construction areas. It makes life so much prettier.

And no more loving pigeons looking longingly at France and maybe as far as the Loire Valley!
There's something about a rainbow that always lifts the spirits, however cold and rainy it is.
Great photo !!
What a lovely rainbow...it doesn't matter where we are in the world, a rainbow means the same thing to everyone...a crock of gold, or just a smile to see the beauty of nature.
I hope you enjoy your weekend. Louise
That is a nice view, and it will be even prettier when the cables are gone. The US is way behind Europe when it comes to burying electric, phone, and cable lines.
Diane, If I ever find a crock of gold, I'll share it with all my readers :)
Kathie, Putting all the wires underground is a long process, causing a lot of nuisance for the people living here. But the result is worth the trouble, I guess.
Mark, I think those cables have been there since electricity came to the village. It's time that they were gone.
Chm, So true, but I hope they'll find a nice and cosy spot in the trees across the road :) They won't have the same open view though.
Jean, Rainbows are magical things! Pity that they never stay long.
Louise, I had a nice weekend with some nostalgic cooking ...
Carolyn, In a few years time all the wires will be gone, but then we'll have the 'waves' to worry about! There already is a lot of controversy in Belgium about the possible negative impact of signals emitted by mobile phone antennea on people's health :(
Hi Martine,
