Orchid update

It's been a while since I posted photos of my orchids. After my move in March 2011, most of them looked rather poorly: yellow leaves, no new flowers and a general look of 'what am I doing here?'

And then, in spring, they suddenly all burst back into life. Apparently they were beginning to enjoy their new surroundings. Today I have four out of seven plants producing the most beautiful flowers. Here's one of them ...

Tomorrow or Saturday I'll be back with the story of our 'Brief encounter with the Vouvray police.'

In the meantime: have a nice weekend. Mine starts tomorrow as I'm not working on Fridays. But you knew that already, didn't you?

Technically speaking, if I may, it's a stunning photo.
Considering framing it. I'm serious!

Your orchid is beautiful.
I was bought one just like it by one of my pupils at the end of term. I only hope I can keep it looking as good as yours!

Lovely photo of a lovely orchid...I agree with Mark, consider having it framed.

I left a comment yesterday and it disappeared. ???

These flowers look as if they were made of porcelain. Beautiful photo.

Your orchid looks lovely. I have left four, which are about to bud, in the care of my son...fingers crossed! I don't think they have survived as well as your plants have Martine. Congratulations and I hope you are able to enjoy them for a few months. louise

Mark, Thank you. It was just a 'lucky' shot ... no technical preparation involved... ;)

Gaynor, Did you take it to France with you, or did you leave it to fend for itself in England? They can stand some neglect ... but not too much.

Virginia, Thanks! A framed version would look nice on my red kitchen wall!

Chm, Blogger can be whimsical sometimes. Thank you for trying again! And yes, they are almost as fragile as porcelain.

Louise, With 4 out of 7 plants blooming at the same time, I have a hard time chosing one that can 'sit' in the living room. The others need to stay on de kitchen window sill.
