Living on a major national road (a N-road in France) my photos aren't as artistic, picturesque and/or romantic as those of the French countryside ... but I think they give you a fair idea of the view from my window and a short and 'cripsy' walk over to my mother's yesterday ...
The grey/brownish lines represent the driving lanes.
The entrance gate into my neighbour's yard across the road.
Another picturesque feature ...
The railing of my balcony and - in the background -
the surface of the road, after some more afternoon snowfall.

This morning the roads were snow and ice-free and I made it to work without any hick ups. If we are to believe our weatherman Frank, we won't have any fresh snow tonight, but a thick layer of mist is expected ... which just might freeze to the soil ... As I didn't bring my laptop home today, I may have to take the day of tomorrow if or when driving conditions are too tricky. I hope it'll work out just fine and that I can go into work safely. It would be such a waste to sacrificy a day-off ... which I'd rather use for my vacation in France next summer!!!

keep warm and safe, Martine.
I hope our times in France coincide and another meet can be planned ino your schedule.
It's so unusual to have so much of Europe with the same weather conditions...
Brrr...just looking at your photos made me cold.
Bundle up and stay warm and drive safely on the roads.
The snow makes for a beautiful landscape.
beautiful photos. always like seeing the snow photos. the snow makes everything look so pristine. in Belgium, if you have bad weather and the company tells you to stay home, do you have to take leave or is it a day away from the office with pay?
The photos are lovely...the sight of the snow helps cool me down in our 35 degree heat!
Gaynor, I hope so too. I have to check with my friends when they are planning their pre-summer trip (May-June?).
TB, Very true, but at least this way we don't have to be jealous of each other, do we? :)
Virginia, Driving conditions are almost back to normal. The weather report mentioned black ice in some areas this morning, but I haven't seen any.
Nadege, Pretty to look at, indeed!
Bob, In Belgium companies never tell their employees to stay home in case of snow. In case you don't show up, you have to provide sufficient evidence that you did everything humanly possible to arrive at work. If the evidence is lacking, you have to take a day off, or you don't get payed.
Louise, To be honest, I don't know what I prefer ... the cold or the heat? ;)
