Don't worry, this doggy isn't dead. It's just snoozing
in the afternoon sun in the troglodyte village of Turquant.
It's really 'a dog's life', isn't it?

Hello Ladybird,
We are about 1 hour 40 minutes east of Turquant but we really think it is worth the trip...what do you think? Also, would you recommend Chinon and/or Saumur while we are there? Thanks in advance!!!!!
Lynn
Hi Lynn, Thank you for logging in while you're on holiday.
I really recommend Turquant! It's fab! From there I would go to the nearby Château de Brézé. You don't want to miss that!!!
If not, I would go for Chinon. It's pocket-size, ideal for strolling around, the castle is very interesting and the town has a lovely market on Thursday. If you are in the neighbourhood, make sure to visit the village of Crissay-sur-Manse. It's simply lovely!! And make sure to have a drink or even an excellent salad lunch at the local Auberge, called 'Les Coups de coeurs'!
P.S. Saumur is a 'big' town, full of traffic jams and parking problems! Martine
