No need holding your breath. I'm not sunning on some tropical beach.

Vacation these days is no longer getting away to 'exotic' destinations, like the Loire Valley. It's just a short week without professional obligations ... enjoying some precious 'me-time', away from all the stress, catching up on some much needed sleep, reading blogs and doing some long overdue household chores.

I'll be back soon ... So drop in from time to time.
Normal service will be resumed presently!

Have a nice summer!

Have a good break Martine. Try to do something different every day, it will make the week seem like it lasts longer.

There's a word recently invented for a vacation taken at home but I can't quite remember it - staycation perhaps?
Amyway, there's a lot to be said for it.
No packing or arriving back with a suitcase full of washing, for a start!
A chance to catch your breath and maybe do all those things locally that you can't normally find the time for at the weekend.
I hope you have a lovely time!

Enjoy your week away from work commitments. Jean is right, it is called a staycation.

Make the most of the long (although getting shorter) summer days. Refresh yourself and do what you want, when you want! All because... you can.

Martine, I think a "me time" holiday is one of the best! I do hope you enjoy your break.

Thank you all for your kind wishes. I took your advice, rested a lot, had some fabulous me-time. I even felt selfish at times.

I wouldn't call it the happiest vacation ever (sorry Chm), not after the fabulous times I used to have in the Loire Valley. But it was more than OK, different yes, but OK.

Wouldn't mind another 'staycation' in few weeks or so. :)

Hi Mats, I'll send you an email later this weekend. Till then!
